Thought I'd add this one. Looks decent in the first picture, but the subsequent pictures are a little different - check out the rough buffing, the pitting (some of which is pretty close to the edge) and the chip in the edge, plus the wonky heel area - this razor was advertised as shave ready.

Good to see this thread is still alive. I'll have to post some to this thread when I find some time to play on the bay. It really is funny to see what some people are trying to pawn off. Unless I know the person restoring the eye candy razors on the bay, I automatically avoid them. I'm sure there are many a buyers that have been burned with restorations that have overheated the blades or presented pictures that exaggerated the razors true condition. One bit of advice I read on ebay was that if the pictures are crappy and the seller has a rating over a hundred, they are trying to hide something because by this time they should know how to post a good picture. If we all keep this thread alive we can help those new to razor buying on the bay from sending good money for junkers. It's very rare that someone makes a steal off ebay, more so today than when I was an active buyer.“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A. Einstein)

I just finished reading through this thread-- very excellent. Fortunately, I bought my first razor here and the next couple from a local shop. I have a few coming from eBay and am can't wait to see what I actually get. Nothing I purchased was intended to shave with straight away, rather to practice different restoration and honing methods. Anyway, I learned a lot from this thread. Cheers~

What do you all think of this one? Do I see a small crack near the heel? Kind of hard to see but I'm pretty sure it's there.

Looks like a crack to me.

Strange thing is, the seller assures me there are no cracks. I'll be staying away from the auction regardless. I think I know a crack when I see one and I think the guy probably just assumed there's nothing wrong with it and never looked before responding.

I agree, it looks like a crack to me. Thanks for posting the picture.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???
