This. I've bought dice made of cow bone on eBay. I've also bought skulls and such.

It's probably best not to ask...

As to the ivory and tortoise shell most of what I've seen is "natural material" then "whiteish" or "calico pattern" (or something along those lines) to describe it.

Ebay has wised up to the natural material scam,The new discription (one I coined by the way) is:scales are made from Elephant Dentitia and yes they are teeth. An extension of.

You take and Ivory scaled razor to europe or canada and it gets seen by customs you are in a world of hurt.
On the above fishing trip note,Buddy of mine was up In B.C. salmon fishing last year,(Fraser river)he picked up a feather floating down the river, stuck it in his fishing hat (large floppy fedora).
Customs at the border nailed him bigtime as it was an eagle feather (he had no clue) spent the night in jail,$3000.00 fine, and can never return to Canada again, gotta be carefull with animal parts.

There is NO rhyme or reason as to who gets to sell what. The ivory issue has been going on forever as has the bone issue, yet when an individual describes his razor as having FLAWLESS TORTOISE SCALES, the auction runs all 7 days and the item is sold.

Antique switchblades and antique push button knife auctions get yanked all the time. Most guys just post a picture and say it all works as advertised etc etc.

Knife handles made from jigged bone are usually now described as being made from the shinbone of cattle or simply bovine bone.

I'm pretty sure Ebay uses algorithms to catch banned words en masse, just like search engines to find key words. I. ..V.. .O. ..R.. .Y will throw them off

This is because the world is backwards and thinks the son should pay for the fathers indulgences. Instead of utilizing and or maintaining a material that has already been harvested while legal at that time. We should abandon all of it and let it rot. Thus making the decimation of those animals even more pointless and worthless. I understand that they are trying to protect those animals that are still living but activist take things to far and are the first to cry foul if someone comes after something they like.

Sorry for the rant getting off the soapbox now
