Thanked: 530Wow, I really feel like I missed the party for this one, But I just wanted to pop in and say that I have a Tony Miller 2.5 inch Starter Strop with the leather thong/bead hanger that I would GLADLY send out. Ther are no nicks, cuts, or damage, and no cupping...
Fletcher, if you still need a good strop (It's red latigo, by the way) I would be more than happy to send it your way. Anyone here can atest to the quality of TM strops, and it would be my pleasure to let you experience one for yourself
I figured that everyone nicks their first strop (My first Illinois is in tatters) so why not send you a higher-quality strop to practice on, before you move on to a real one.. Send me your address and I'll send it out.
Sorry I'm late and merry christmas
Also, I'm completely amazed by how many people stepped up on this one. This is the nicest thing I've seen done right out of the blue in ages. Really makes me feel optimistic about humanity for once
Cheers, all of you. You're everything that's good about SRPLast edited by ShavedZombie; 12-15-2009 at 06:59 AM.

Christmas is here
Men,
The USPS man was Santa Claus this year and delivered the packages from Ducatti, Randolphjo, nun2sharp, and bjanzen. Thank you men all for your generous gifts!!!
With that in mind my goal is to watch some videos on lathering, shaving, stropping, and then go for my first shave. Tonight I am divorcing myself from the cartridge. Wish me good luck men of the cloth!
With the sincerest gratitude,
JT Fletcher

Thanked: 530Glad to hear it. You'll definitely love the shaves if you stick with it. Make sure you find the right grip on all the strops though.. I've been using "handled" strops for a while, but recently started on D-rings... They help me pull tauter, and at a better angle... Make sure the strop stays flat, and free of twisting... Also, something I've discovered (and I would highly recommend doing this to the strop I sent you) one of my strops had been unused for long enough that it got...."bubbly"? It was sorta warped, only it was more like, even pulled straight, it had parts that weren't flat... Put the strop on your table and take a beer bottle, or some other perfectly flat glass, and just rub it. Put heavy pressure on (but not crushing) and just rub top to bottom, for a minute or two.. My stropping results got so much better after that fixed the edge contact...
Just my two cents... Good Luck!
