I have five, all in working order and part of my rotation:
From left to right:
- Geneva Cutlery Pyramid No. 7
- Mastro Livi "New Grind" series
- Robert Williams 8/8 Half Hollow
- Thiers Issard Le Grelot
- Birck and Zamminer "Reliance"
The first one I purchased was the "Reliance." The Geneva Cutlery followed in short order. The TI Le Grelot, Livi, and finally Williams then joined the rotation respectively.
I won't be accumulating at this rate or this lavishly in the new year.

I just started shaving about a month ago and I have two razors, both of which are in my profile picture. I started with one which is a Revisor 6/8" and just today I got a Dovo "Bergischer Lowe" 5/8". Both of them were gifts from my incredible girlfriend.

I started shaving with a str8 over a year ago, and only had one until about a month ago. I've read posts that say it is good to have two, so you can have a comparison razor. That would probably be a good idea. I wish I had seen that advise earlier. Anyway, if you buy shave ready and take good care of it, one should be enough.

Thanked: 12hmmmm...
Comparing my count to others makes me think I went a little overboard
As I posted earlier, I started with a shave ready Bengall from the classifieds then bought 9 more from ebay for a total of 10. Maybe a large number, but not a huge outlay of $$$ (except maybe the 4 vintage NOS razors).
Since that post, I purchased a new Boker. My wife bought me a Dovo MOP which I received yesterday (shaves wonderfully btw), and I should receive my Dovo 5/8 Ebony Spike Point today. All are from SRD last month, so they will be "Lynn sharp" forever.
So I'm up to 13 now, but only 4 are shave ready. I bought that first Bengall the first week of November. So that's 13 razors in less then 9 weeks!
I don't plan to acquire anymore razors for awhile. Yes, I'm aware of what RAD is.

Overboard
Just getting started here and my OCD is kicking my butt. I've got four live-and-learn pieces of Pakistani garbage. Letter openers, all, apparently.
So I've got a new no-frills Dovo on the way (will be sending it in for a proper sharpening), just bought an old DublDuck (ditto, for an inspection), have an old Liberty on the way and one alleged to be mid-18th century. I've always been fascinated with metalwork (Dad worked on a furnace) and this looks like the kind of transcendant thing I can teach my son and son-in-law, once I've traversed the learning curve myself.

Thanked: 363I'm at 20+ and that's nothing really, some people have 20 of one type of razor. I have 8 Sheffields, my fav.
I have been really thinking about this lately, esp about what Robin said. I really think 7 is the number I want, 7 quality blades one for each day, and I'm making an effort to do just that.
My problem is worrying if the people I sell to will keep the blade in good shape or let it go to waste, it is after-all an antique, it would be nice to know the blade will be well taken care of.
Cheers
David
