I had one for years, then learnt to use it and bought another off here. Then bought a couple off fleabay, given some and got some more for Christmas. Total so far, 12.

Does this sort of thing become a habit?

Quantity seems to fluctuate with me. Lets put it this way: a minimum of 7 at any given time - sometimes more.

    Default How Many Razors...

mbrossar; I know the question has been asked in general, and it seems when you get responses from the more seasoned guys, you start to see some reasonably large inventories. But my question is just for the newbie (or for the seasoned veterans - back when you were a newbie). The Beginner's guide to straight shaving's Basic equipment section lists 1 or 2 razors. Personally, I have 1. I'm just curious what the other newbies out there have.

I'm definitely a newbie...Only been into srt8 razor shaving since Xmas.

To date I have four Dovo 5/8" str8 razors...Three are shave-ready and one is not. I'll have to get it honed one day. I also have a Maximillian NOS 5/8" Weltmeister on the way.

I'm already giving some thought to acquiring a 6/8" one day...

Well...I need to update my original post. This Christmas I was gifted by my lovely wife a Filarmonica Double Temple and a razor rack...and, I just ordered a 8/8 Henckels Friodur. And now there are eight.............

I have one, and it's the Dovo shavette with disposable blades, but I am researching my first purchase of a true straight.

Razors are evil. Stop buying them!
