I just started with str8 end of July and started from the get-go using both hands. I like the better view and think it is easier from attack perspective in some of the tricky areas. Dominant feels better, but doing better with left over time. Not nearly as hard as I thought it would be, even though I was hesitant to use my left hand. I think in time it will feel as natural as using my dominant hand.

i only shave with my right hand. I never got around to learning to use my left but i can get to all the spots i need to no problem so i figured i didnt have to bother.
One day i might try to learn, but for now im happy with one hand.Shaving_story on Instagram

Being comfortable with two hands is also a benefit if you start to shave elsewhere like your head.
Shaving xtg behind my left ear, with my right hand, would be dangerous as much as uncomfortable.

Less than two months, but still on one hand.
I'll have to give it a try and use the dumb hand!

Thanked: 68Both here too!
Definately both from the start. Find it so much easier to be using the same overall strokes and views for both sides.
My cheek XTG starts from my ear and down to the edge of the goatee. Possibly even better using the non-dominant as I'm that bit more careful of my angle and stroke pressure.Don't do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the paramedics!

I decided when I started with straights that I would learn to use both hands as recommended. It was tricky at first but no problem now.

Rostfrei,
I too decided when I re-started shaving with a straight, that I would use both hands. It surprises me how natural it feels now !
I still use safety razors with my right hand only, and it feels very strange not using the left hand - I really must learn to use the left with the safeties
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ

I'm a lefty, but I use most tools almost evenly with both hands.
