I lost the use of my dominant arm completely for a few days, then full use was years in returning. I say that, to keep from sounding like it's easy - I had no choice. I used both hands in my first shave, but that's 'cause I became more ambidextrous. I would say it's very much worth the effort. You can and will get comfortable with it.

Brush your teeth with you non dominate hand for a week or two. It will feel strange but it will help you learn to use your other hand. You do not have to worry about cutting yourself either. Then when it no longer feels strange and you can control the movements, try shaving with that hand.

Thanked: 1195I shave with both hands, but not uniformly around my face. I switch hands for my cheeks and moustache area, but use my dominant right for my neck and chin. I don't know if anyone else does this, but it just seems to work for me.

when I first began shaving with a straight razor, I used just my right hand. As my technique improved I realized that I was unable to achieve the closeness that I desired using only my right hand. I started forcing myself to use my left hand to shave parts of my face and shaved the other areas with my right. I now shave proficiently with both hands.

I have always used both hands with the straight. I feel like it gives me more options.
