I have two. A Simpson Chubby#2 and an E-Shave silver tip. I was looking at Max's Shavemac in the classifieds..... No better not.

I sold or traded a few so I am down to 22 brushes. A loose rotation that works by my picking up the one that calls to me when it is time to shave.

    Simpson Super - 5
    Plisson HMW - 2
    Plisson EW - 2
    Rooney Finest - 4
    Old Apothecary ( 1 actually a Rooney Finest and 1 a Rooney Super) 2
    Truefitt & Hill ( actually a Rooney Finest) 1
    Rooney Heritage - 1
    Shavemac - 1
    Thiers-Issard - 1
    Mastro Livi - 1
    Hoffritz - 1
    Vestavia - 1

The men in the white coats should be coming for me soon.

    Default How Many Brushes . . .

    Hello, everyone:

I have 12 brushes — Semogue, Edwin Jagger, Muhle, Vulfix — and keep all in rotation. I also have an Edwin Jagger travel brush in its travel tube, but that stays in my dopp kit and is used only during travel.

    Regards,
    Obie

Nobody holds a candle to dr.P over at SMF

    I've been using a Chubby 1 Super and a Tulip 2 for a
few years now. Typically Chubby for bowl and Tulip
for face, since the Chubby is just so dense.

    Two.

A Rooney Heritage Alibaba #1 at home and a Crabtree and Evelyn Edwin Jagger Best Brush in my locker at the gym. Effectively that means that I have no choice or rotation of brushes as each is in a different location. I certainly have RAD and HAD but do not expect to ever be bitten by BAD.

I never would have spent $150 on a brush but at the MN meetup a couple years ago RandyDance asked me if I wanted to trade the Dovo I won for the Alibaba brush he won. Both prizes were provided by Vintage Blades (shameless and massively deserved plug) and since it was Randy asking I flat out agreed without even thinking about it. Thinking about it later, I was perfectly happy with the trade despite (at the time) it being my first opportunity to try a Dovo and my first opportunity to try a Lynn honed razor. I find the brush to be fantastic, though shorter than I would prefer.
