Thanked: 2591Let's keep the thread on point about knots, no need to start rules interpretations , that is a job for the Mod team.

Thanked: 2591Here is a Shavemac knot that I am having installed in a custom handle soon. Notice the differently looking plug, those are indeed made in house knots of high quality if one is willing to pay the price.

A Man of Education,,not me mind you ,, would first point out to the suspected offender, the discrepancies in his statements. This would be done with facts and presented examples to back those facts.
This act would be done prior to the accusation of lying and violation of house rules.

WOW!!! Now THAT looks like a quality knot. IMO
I don't know if the hair is dyed or not, but the white looks white and the black very dark and the line between is very defined. This is what I imagined when thinking about hair selection and placement on a high level. Nice!
I take it that knot is a 2 band. I'll check out their site.
I'm excited to try out various manufacturers, the high price slows that process down, but that's fine, no big deal. I've got a few great companies to check out, they look expensive, but they also look like great high quality products.
Who knows if my face will care! But maybe my conscience and my face will team up and overrule my pocketbook! Crazy world you never know...Last edited by MikeT; 10-19-2015 at 01:10 PM. Reason: misspelled

Thanked: 2591This is a two band silver tip, one of their high end knots. I doubt the hair was dyed, I have a 26mm two band from Shavemac and it does not show any signs of bleaching after months of use.
I am too trying various knots from various makers, I have an Artesania Romera two band Manchurian on the way, I'll post pics when it arrives. I think that one was assembled in China but I could be wrong.Stefan

And thank YOU Robin! I have followed his work with great interest for quite some time as he is an artist and craftsman who makes beautiful things. But until now I had no idea that he had an Etsy shop set up. So I appreciate your bringing this to our attention by doing that which you accuse him of doing but what to my knowledge he has never ever done: advertising his Etsy shop on SRP.
Now, can we get back to brushes please?
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

mainaman,
Is the Shavemac knot divided into small bundles of hair, then set in the plug?
It's a great looking knot, by the way. Thanks for sharing the pic.

Glad you asked Robin. That knot came from a Thater brush that I sold in the classifieds. HarryWally bought it and told me, that since he has a passion for making brushes, he intended to cut the handle up and retrieve the knot to place it in a handle he turned with his own hands.
He is one who is doing this from a passion for the art and craft, not for filthy lucre alone. I hope your request for 'a senior mod' looking into this has been taken care of to your satisfaction.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
