Thanked: 4206Thanks Thomas,, keep checking the mail box for those shavemac knots as I'm eager to set these now and start the blooming process. Then they will come into their own looks.
The dia. consistency on the VS knots leaves much to be desired. They tend to be bigger than quoted, which isn't a bad thing, just means my holes need some custom finessing. Better larger than smaller from a value perspective. I figure where the real difference will be is in the density and quality of hair strands."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 2284Sheeeeeit Mike! All three are true winners! Let the PMs begin!!!
When you slow down, I have some of this old growth Oak I need you to make me one from, and for the record, I will not pay for it! wink, wink.
Those VS have had good reports from people.... From people with extensive brush collections too. I hope they work out for you too. I will recommend taking coarse sandpaper, and roughing the plug up before gluing. Bottom, and sides... I've had a few come out that I have not done this to.Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....

Thanked: 4206Great idea on roughing up the plug Andrew. Do not want knot issues post build.
Thanks gents for the kind feedback, I agree the wood ones really stand out over the plastic. Will be the way I go in the future I think, and with intermingled contrasting components.
Also for the 'record', none of these particular brushes will correlate into direct sales. That's not what I am into this for, or about at this point in my life. It's all about the love of the shave, and all the accessories associated with it. Trading and exchanging between gentleman friends and bar brawling buds alike.
Now if specific pm's generate specific builds that do incur costs for time and materials I trust those exchanges are not frowned upon as, to me, they promote the community intent of this forum and are one of the things I find most attractive, and unique about SRP. A bunch of hands on guys in a hands off virtual environment exchanging ideas and items that are pertaining to the most non techy things you can think of.

Very nice Mike.
Have you preset the depth for those Shavemac knots or are you going to have to drill some more wood out?Tony

Thanked: 4206Thanks Tony.
I have pre drilled deeper than I need to go so can add a few coins under the knot to set the ideal height. Or at least that's the plan. Will add a bit of weight too which won't be a bad thing."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."
