And the nice thing about making lots of mistakes, but not often the same one twice is lots of bits to pull together into new bits. Mocked up with the Asian two band knot.

Knots not set, 3 two banders and a smaller traditional silver tip just to see how they are looking so far. The green one is much smaller dia post return, but it's still a nice looking brush. The smaller knot works in that one now.
The others are drying in the shop as I type. The final mod to the jig, adding teeth was prolly the last step needed. Last few turned out exactly as desired.
Thing it's done. Now to get some more exotic materials to turn with.
    Cheers.

Thanks Tom. I should have been able to figure it all out on paper first and not rushed in with crude tests, but where's the fun in that?
Unlike the Barber of Ulm, who figured out how to make a working hang glider before he figured out how to get out of it in an emergency. My mistakes were non critical.hehehe.
That burl one on the left turned out terrific. Very happy with its finish.

That's the hope Mike. Make a few South American themed handles with it, among other things.

I'm flying back to Europe in July to visit family - I'll be stopping in Paris, France for a couple of days, Then Lisbon, Portugal for a week, and finally Athens, Greece for another week. One of my uncles & his son in Paris are actually high end carpenters and my dad in Lisbon sells high end office furniture. I don't know if there's any kind of exotic wood in Europe you can't get a hold of easily on this side of the pond, but if there is, I'm sure I could bring back a couple of blocks of wood with me, if you let me know what type & what size.
My older brother and a really good friend actually live in South America, in Quito, Ecuador and Manaus, Brazil... but I'm not planning on going down there anytime soon; however, if a trip down there pops up I'll let you know for sure!
