Thanked: 4206Thanks gents, but there's always another lil curve ball with home grown solutions. Seems the indexer is so smooth on its end face that with the acrylic, or peek it's not possible to ensure zero rotational torque as the mill bit turns. Going to need to give it some teeth where it marries up against the inside of the handle or I'm going to have uneven spacing or flutes still.
So, not back to the drawing board per say but definitely another amendment pending, hehe.
Sadly I did bugger one of the peek testers and seriously wounded my emerald one before I saw the drifting. Only plastic, but 'twas all the acrylic I had. Need to order some now.
Benz, mad props for training next gen tradesmen sir. Sad as it is to see the good ones go, it's great to help them up along their way huh?
Haven't had that particularly bittersweet sadness in a long time unfortunately. All my guys these days would never leave, wish as I may that they might...

Thanked: 4206Oh yea Mike.. . each build is better than the last...
Got my Chinese knots faster than ever before so can put some hair in a couple to see the whole look at least. Very surprised that China post beat German post, but it did say on the Shavemac site that there could be a delay of up to 8 days due to my order being two band as opposed to normal silver tip.
Want to compare, side by side, Shavemac two band knot vs China 2 band knot of identical dimensions ( on paper as ordered). Price wise, it's a 15:1 difference so I expect to be dazzled, hehehe.
Cheers."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thats funny. I finally found out where the black badger knots, I put in those brushes I made, come from.

If you got Shavemac knots coming I,ll swear by them,, but I also just got to use a Virginia Sheng knot. Both were 2 band, it was pretty good too, but I think the Shavemac is pretty much the winner, if the Chinese one holds up I,ll still recommend it for an affordable knot that is nice. Tc

Thanked: 2284I got more green for you, don't fret. I'm just not going to give it to you until you have everything running perfect.
As for the comparison between the German and the Chinese.... The Germans definitely have more TLC going into them.

Thanked: 2284I'm staring at downtown San Diego, Coronado bridge, and watching Redcane fly around from my Corner Suite at the Sheraton. My Wife's Aunt treats us very well.
