The dubl duck brush in this 4 pack of repairs is aluminum and has some serious pitting. I'm going to be using silver solder on it, hoping to fill in and build up the voids. May be a sheen difference between the two metals but if it flows smoothly I can live with the colour change visually. The key will be smooth in hand.
And sounds good Andrew. Will wait till I have Toms apart to order the knots. DO1-2 for you it shall be.

Thank you! I have a lot of silver solder (very hard through super soft) that I can use on that from my old jewelry-making days. appreciate the feedback. Will definitely give that a shot and try to find a horsehair knot in the meantime

Happy to share gents. This forum, and the workshop in particular have given me a wealth of insight and experience sharing from those with a lot more hours on the blades than I do.
Enjoy giving back in kind and capturing the works along the way..
    Keeps the place interesting.
I've been quiet of late (busy in less fun ways) so needed to find some time to get back into a few post worthy projects..
    Cheers.

Looking great, Mike! Some pics of that 'snarling' process would be cool!

    Will do Tom.
That part, might be worth setting up the video for as it's a two handed job and there won't be free hands for the camera. Maybe I can tape my phone above the work area or some other high tech solution.

I have a #3. Original long-hair boar. Only one left.

At one time back years ago, I had 6 or 8 ofem. Was buying them for 8 bucks or so.
Polished them up and filled them with TGN knots and sold half (cheap!), gave half away.

    Ain't that some shit.

If you show up at my door, no need for the covert stuff.
I will bring you in, make you a drink, and hand that brush over.
    That's the deal!
