    Super shave this early morning.

Pulled out the wifeys personal favorite, “Massacre of the Innocents”.

Gotta admit, the soap is probably the top soap I’ve used to date. Scent is great, but the lather and slickness are exceptional.

Paired it with an unscented balm (the best in the market), and my Shapleigh - Diamond Edge.

As a footnote, the Mühle brush is the worst brush I’ve ever purchased. It was expensive, and originally came with the cheapest, lopsided, badger hair knot I’ve ever seen.

I hated it so much, that I took the chance of totally ruining it by removing the original knot, drilling the cavity larger, and inserting a synthetic knot I purchased from Maggard.

It was a success. The synthetic knot is one of my favorite knots to shave with now. But you can still see the grey epoxy line between the knot and the handle. (Call it “character”).

Definitely an exceptional shave this morning.

    Straight: Shapleigh - Diamond Edge
DE: Carbon Shaving Cox-316L (head shave)
Lather: Declaration Grooming “Massacre of the Innocents”
    Balm: Captains Choice “Unscented”
Splash: Declaration Grooming “Massacre of the Innocents”
    Brush: Mühle (modified)
    Bowl: Captains Choice (Large)

    My first SOTD.

After shaving with this razor for several years -- and in a rare moment of wisdom -- I decided to send it off to the Idaho panhandle for a vacay, complete with spa treatment package and full-body makeover. Thank you, Glen for the magnificent result. Shaves like a dream. (My poor photography surely does an injustice to Glen's work.)

    Prep: hot shower
    Soap: Williams puck
    Brush: Omega Pro boar
BUS (Butt-ugly strop, my own creation, 3" bridle leather)
    Razor: Gottlieb & Hammesfahr Pyramide
    AV Ice Blue
Olay SPF 15 (pale Irish skin and the S. Florida sun don't play well together)
