That is the root of religious strife as far as heretics and "Satan ministers". Satan still kept his form of Angel of light, even though he is fallen. So his ministers and the religions he influences, especially his variants of Christianity, will attempt to masquerade as a form of light.
I don't know... it could just be me, but when you call out a man and fellow forum member like you did above - well that's just downright rude.

I get that proselytizing tends to lead to the dramatic - but...

Besides being rude that might be a classic example of the kind of thinking by groups in different religions that lead to unrest and wars. Everyone claiming theirs is the only way and trying to impose it on others. Carried to the extreme, look no further than the current situation with ISIS to see what can happen. I am almost sure that ISIS believes that their brand of Islam is the only one fit for all including fellow Muslims.

Dude, it's you. I only posted the quote that way because when I replied I forgot to use the "reply with quote". I wasnt calling him out, I just had no other way to edit the post so as to include the quote in the usual manner. And I didn't want to rewrite my response, so I figured that would work. That was merely my way of recreating the blue quote box....nothing more. That is why I used the color and options that I did.

The reply was anything but hostile. And was endorsing of competent debate, rather than religious strife. This leads me to believe that, perhaps, you might not have read my entire response, which would leave no one who read it thinking any hostilities in the context.

next time I will be careful to use the reply with quote option so as to avoid misunderstandings like this.

Cool! Maybe I am sensitive and literal.

Sensitive cuz I rather like Spashone lol.

And literal in that I always think of a larger font as yelling lol.

But that's cool. I believe you. I guess the point always will be that delivery is key. God only knows I drive people nuts with my delivery... often.

Misunderstandings happen. No big deal. I have been on your side of the equation more often than not. When someone is unintentionally offended it is best to clear up the matter immediately. I try my best to be as thorough and clear with a post. Especially with those of theological debate having a sensitive religious nature.

Religious matters and politics bring out the most intense debates. And it appears that we have covered both in one thread. That's why I like off topic threads, not to strive, but to bring out good points and have people thinking about and discussing the most important matters.

Two interesting articles on the "shortage" of skilled labor in tech and science.

I am sure what is being said in those linked articles is also happening in Canada. You need not look solely to the fields covered in the linked articles to it is also happening in "entry level" jobs on Canada Tim Hortons, McDonald’s face criticism over foreign worker program . Seems the solution to jobs you can't or don't want to off shore the solution is the use of temporary foreign workers.

Employers simply want to reduce costs by any means possible. It is no wonder that between off shoring and hiring temporary foreign workers under the guise of worker shortages that our standard of living is declining.

All this did not happen overnight but is the result of many decades of orchestrated efforts to bring about the current situation.

If you mean to hoard as much money for yourself by being niggardly toward your workers, you are correct. It seems that the attitude has become "I can never have enough." A thoroughly selfish greed to the point of disdain for fellow man seems to be what is truly wrong in this country.

Apparently that is what Capitalism has devolved to these days, stripped of most if not all of it's good points. So, yes you are pretty much correct in thinking that is what I meant.

In the U.S in order to hire foreign workers you need to obtain a labor certification from the Dept of Labor and show what efforts you made to recruit domestic workers. There is a published list of acute occupations which varies from region to region and in those cases you are exempt the labor certification but still have to show attempts to recruit.

That's where attorneys come in. You can creatively write a job description so no one fits except a specific person or persons and thereby skirt the law. Most foreign workers who come here to work for substandard wages (higher paid people I mean) quickly apply for permanent residence via occupational visas and then quickly quit and move on to a higher paying employer and the cycle starts all over again.

    It's mostly a racket.

There are a few occupations where foreign workers are truly needed like nursing for instance.

Like everything else it's money talking and gaming the system.
