Thanked: 1936The FACT is that none of us can truly say we know the facts (in regards to the theory of global warming) as they are all swayed in one way or another to prove a point as to statistics.
I do believe that we humans have not done any good for this earth for sure.Southeastern Oklahoma/Northeastern Texas helper. Please don't hesitate to contact me.

I guess you can look at it that way too...
Myself I am way more effected by Taxes and Governmental imposed restrictions on natural resource usage, then I am effected by Exxon/Mobil or BP making huge money...
I see the entire "Sky Falling" scenario as a huge power grab opportunity by big government, at least here in the US..
I also see most "Green solutions" ie: Wind, Solar, especially as very short sighted and actually not very green at all, they are simply very expensive..
Fossil fuels created the surplus of humans, when it runs out, we will either have found another source of power, or we will begin to decline in numbers, either way the problem is solved..
But in reality I am not disagreeing with you, in fact I agree that there are two sides and both are in it for the money, now if everyone else would realize that perhaps some solutions to both issues can be found..
Less Pollution,
Cheaper NRG
BUT
Lets say we solve that, we will still have an issue with finding food and water for 7+Billion people, until we realize that the real problem is the planetary population,, all sides are simply kicking the can..

Some are in it for the money, some for power and prestige, and others are 'true believers' no matter which side of the fence they are on. Most of us follow events, or don't , while having very little to do with the outcome. Life is short and if you read history it is clear that homo sapiens don't seem to learn from it, just repeat the same old thing every few generations.

Whenever a new technology comes out people laugh and are critical about it. When the first cars came out people laughed at that. I mean everyone knows it's horsepower that makes the country work (real horsepower). They laughed at the first steam engines too. They laughed at the Wright brothers. New technologies are short sighted only by short sighted people. If every house and factory had solar for hot water and electricity things would be different. In fact moves are under way to squash these new technologies by the ones in power now.
Once these things are developed they become mainstream and then looking back they are no laughing matter. It's then the old ways that folks laugh at.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Come on now, that is simply not right
You only have to Google the environmental effects of Solar panel production and disposal to find that they are not so Green
I got schooled on this stuff by a little hippy chick when Ford first came out with the Hybrid Escape
Here I thought wow Ford producing a Green Machine, she sat down at my desk and explained just how bad hybrids were from Production to Destruction and explained that one must look at the entire life cycle of a product to see it's real effect on the environment
That set me on many searches about Wind and Solar NRG, I found she was very right

Thanked: 3228Old or new tech there is no such thing as leaving no foot print or a free lunch. You are left with choosing the lesser of two evils usually.
