Fact: The first manmade nuclear explosion was at Trinity, 1945.

Other fact: Einstein hypothethized, then theorized, E=mc2 in 1905.

Yet another fact: Before 1945 (and 1905) nuclear fission and hydrogen fusion existed.

Not a fact: Scientfic hypotheses or theories.

Fact: Theory is evidence-backed hypothesis tested but not necessarily proven.

Fact: A theory proposed, documented, tested and retested under the scientific method until a body of evidence is generally accepted by the scientific community.

Bob Dylan Hypothesis: Don't need a weather vane to know which way the wind blows.

Modern 20th century man can quickly effect the environment world wide. The background radiation level is still higher than the naturally occurring background radiation level prior to the nuclear age, 1945. Low-background steel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia That is just one small example of how we moderns effect our environment in a negative way.

We have the ability today to effect the environment globally in a very short time span that Medieval Man was incapable of doing.

Yes, climate change is cyclical but there can't be much denying that modern man can accelerate changes to the environment, including the weather.

This is yet another case of facts not fitting theory. Since the data on global warming has been documented as being out and out fabricated to support environutters theories, Fakegate: The Obnoxious Fabrication of Global Warming - Forbes

From that point on, the earth worshippers decided they needed to change the name of their cause to Global Climate Change something many of us simply call seasons.

Remember the Ice Agers of the 70s? Lol.

This pretty much sums up my opinion on this matter. Cool conversation to see many view point from a group with at least one thing in common.

    Facts:

    The earth is warming
There are too many people on the planet
    People create pollution
Pollution is bad whether it is green house gasses or not
The earth has warmed and cooled before there were too many people, and we don't really know why

    Not fact:

Global warming is from man's activities
If we cut back on green house gases warming will stop

    Solution:

    Less People

Simple really, everything else is just about money

Actually the lyrics went, "you don't need a weatherman to see which way the wind blows." The reference being to the then active revolutionary group, 'The Weathermen',.

Whoa, that can be so turned around it is not even funny.
Who do you think stand to make the most money on keeping the status quo, and fighting change?

Treehuggers or the globalized industries making a cr@pload of money without all them pesky environmentalists trying to change things?

    Follow the money indeed!

A common tactic being used against people or groups opposed to what big business wants to/is doing is to launch frivolous lawsuits to slow the opposition and bleed them financially. It has gotten so bad that the Province of Ontario has passed new legislation about the matter.

Ont. moves to stop frivolous 'chill' lawsuits | Ontario | News | Toronto Sun

Must be very important to big business to keep those opposed to these practices to pull stunts like that and waste everyone's time and money.

    Yes, follow the money.

Is there climate change? Yes, always has been. Are humans in all or in part responsible? Maybe. Probably. I don't particularly worry about the who is responsible for the what is, could be, or is not happening. What I do worry about is the fact that most 'the majority' say they believe they are responsible for accelerated climat change, but how they live and what they spend money on does not reflect that. Instead they would rather find some others 'the minority' and label them as the unbelievers who are disillusioned. If the majority would actually walk the talk then you should not have to force their way of living on others. We humans are lucky to have got as far as we have. Education is better than one size fits all laws. But than again, what do I know. I just human. Time to check the mold for my scales.
"The needs of the many out way the needs of the few or the one." Only if the 'few' or the 'one' are/is offering themselves (thru freewill) for the sacrifice. And not thru force from the 'many'.

yea, you know when I was a teenager and Moses was coming down the mountain and slipped and I just happened to be there and catch those tablets so they didn't break into rubble he said I would be rewarded with a very long life. I guess he wasn't kidding. However my point is throughout my life wherever I traveled there was always junk and pollution left behind by other people. it's just gotten worse as the population has grown. I remember as a young man walking in Manhattan Island much above where the Brooklyn Bridge is now was all wilderness and that pesky bear that chased me two miles until I jumped into the East River and almost got sucked down at Hell's Gate if it weren't for those Indians who saved me. A few years later and Canal Street where I used to fish was just an open cesspool and spring street where I used to drink water as it came up out of the ground was just buried by rubble.

Seriously though, the notion we know nothing about the earth because we weren't here is folly because the evidence is all around us in the Ice, in the fossil record, in the distribution of radio isotopes and certain minerals in the earth. You can read and research this stuff or you can listen to someone bankrolled by some industry or political affiliation and just accept what they tell you. Human existence is replete with the result of folks who just accept what "someone in authority" tells them.
