I have hoses and gauges since i use my pump to vacuum down an AC system before refilling. I know it will pull a vacuum but i have no idea on what amount of vacuum. Guess i need to find a container.

I would think that once you got a container and have fittings on it to allow the pump to pull the air, your gauges should show the amount of draw. Just be sure you have a fitting to shut the pull to the pump off AND a fitting to release the vacuum.

As I said, it's easy to make a lid--and a pot with no dents etc on the lip should work as your container.

I once saw an add for transparent duct tape to make professional looking repairs. I tried to get my manager to buy some but he didn't agree........
