I was thinking of the old ones.
I hope my arrows point it out. The first ones were in black...........

Another thing that is probably anal from my end is that I would not use Teflon tape in this application.
As long as you left a thread or two unwrapped you are probably fine but there is the chance of sucking that stuff downstream....

Yes, your arrows show the OLD air filters Intake access.
I'd thought about not using the tape but the manufacturer used it when the original ones were installed so I went ahead and used it.
With that said, I didn't start at the very beginning of the threads so hopefully there won't be any debris getting in the works. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

I am probably showing my age but you might be of an equivalent.
The older tractors and combines had a tube on the bottom that you squished and let the dust out of.
More of a centrifugal type of filtration.

My friend, I'm rather sure that I'm older than you are but remember--'It's not the age that matters--It's the mileage' and I've got a lot of miles on me
I 'think' that you are talking about 'Pre Cleaners' kind of like this one:
There were usually an oil bath air filter behind them but those pre cleaners would be emptied at least once a day.
Back when Mount Saint Helens blew Washington State had HUGE pre cleaners mounted in the front of the Washington State Patrol Cars, they were kind of like this:

Thanked: 4828Borax is what I use here at work. Two cups dissolved into two gallons of hot water for weed killing and to keep them away I just rake it into the gravel a couple of times a year. It doesn’t seem to kill the grass or the dandelions. Which for me is ok, because they are not the major invading weed. There is also a mix of salt and vinegar that you can use but the weeds here seem to like that. I guess if they were sensitive to salt the air here would kill them.

Thanked: 4828After all this you can likely find other uses for your little still.

Pretty sure ill use it exclusively for "hand sanitizer" this batch is brandy flavored errr I mean scented because well I have a LOT homebrewed wine lying around and this is an emergency who cant wait to make mash? Though I am hoping to make some whiskey "scented" "sanitizer" at some point. I suppose I coud use to to distill water

Thanked: 4828A know a few guys that make wine and the wine batches that are not great wine are often used for distillation into grappa. I’m not a consumer but it smells quite potent.
