This size is about the right size for what I do these days. Hell any bigger and I'd need a much stouter base, the top is actually partical board but I'm planning on replacing it with plywood and more reinforcing underneath for support.
I've had that Dewalt 8" Grinder for about 15-18 years It's a 1/2 HP-- 2.5 AMP-- 3500 RPM. I bought it at my local Ranch and Home family run store. i Wish I could remember the price but it looked WAY UNDER PRICED (Less than what Harbor Freight wanted) so I snatched it up, but the next time I was in they had another one exactly like mine at the same price so I mentioned to one of the guys I knew about the pricing so he looked it up and it was correct.
I was a bit hesitant since it was made by the C. H Ina company but the first time I used it I was impressed on how smooth it ran but what was really impressive to me was how long it took for it to stop turning. When you hit the off switch it doesn't change pitch right away.
I'd never timed it but since I was going to post about it I went out and used my cell phone's stop watch and I hit start on the phone when I hit the off switch. It took 2;19 minutes and 40 seconds from off till the wheel stopped. It was vibration free the entire it was winding down.
Glad you like it As you have read, so do I. "tuOur house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

If you are going to link to what I presume is your own website for the purpose of soliciting sales, I suggest you acquaint yourself with the following:

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
