Thanked: 4828I like clocks. Unfortunately my wife is not a fan. That’s a nice clock Roy and a crazy long story. I hope you get to enjoy the chimes for a long time.

Thanked: 0As a Brit (British by birth, English by the grace of God), I love the chimes on the clock. I also have a vintage clock...which sadly someone has overwound (I think), so it just sits and does nothing. One day I really must hunto down someone who is able to get it going again. But, sadly vintage clock repairers are thin on the ground in the UK...but maybe one day.

My wife's aunt has a husband who works on clocks. Going to their house for Christmas was fun as he had dozens of clocks around his house. They gifted us a wall clock for our wedding (I was so pumped for that gift). It finally quit running a couple of years ago, so we took it to him for repair. When they brought it back, he also had a small cuckoo clock to gift us. My wall clock has those same chimes, and the clocks are a favorite of guests, young family members, and people on the other end of a phone line.

Happy to get everything done that had to be this week.
Wife was on me about the pool and figured that was a must do to keep her happy about the car work.

No kidding, eh? Just when I'm thinking "nice to have that one project wrapped up...", Mike pops up having dealt with the pool, done some more landscaping, baked some fantastic bread, and dismantled a damn cool old car for a complete rebuild, etc., and so on.
I would be completely envious if it weren't for the enjoyment I get watching all the projects come together!
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Thanked: 4828I truly appreciate that skill and varied projects but also the time taken to photograph them so they can be shared with us. I frequently fall down on the last part. Keep up the good work gentlemen.

Thanked: 4207Thanks gents.
I get into a rhythm sometimes and things just Click, , but also into long lulls at other times on projects.
The pics along the way really help me to stage milestones in case I get into a lull, or distracted by other priorities for some time.
Sharing them with like minded techy gents only seems right, as well as great fodder for suggested critiques from the collective experience on our forum. Always open to new ideas and ways to get where I’m trying to get.
Cheers and keep the inspiration coming from all the diverse things you try."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

I'm with Rez. Remembering to take the pics is the hard part. I get on a role and don't quit to take pics.
I took my back door to my garage off today. Sanded it the best I could as it's the original door to the house so 1950s. Then cut out for a pet door. Fixed the hinge holes and repainted it with 3 coats. Now the critters can sleep in the garage on the cold snow covered nights in Colorado. It's just Sharpening, right?
