Nice looking bike cudarunner and very well accessorized I like it. I am not a custom style guy, I rather the more straight ridind position of my BMW GS although I must confess the curiosity about how could a trip on one of those with the wife in a pillion could be is growing on me.

While I've seen many of that style of bike on my summer rides, I've yet to see any of them riding 'two up'.
About 2-3 weeks ago I was at my neighborhood Ranch and Home Supply store and had told about being at a motel when a guy on a nice BMW parked next to me and his stand came down elecrically and I told him that that was cheating and we both got a good laugh out of it.
However the checker said she didn't know that BMW made motorcycles and I informed her that they made Very Nice motorcycles.
As I went out the door and turned to my left LO and BEHOLD a guy was parking a BMW that looked similar to yours at the end of the sidewalk.
I went back in and had her come outside to see. She couldn't believe it and told the owner that she'd just told me that she didn't know that BMW made motorcycles and he laughed and said--"Well the do as I own two of them".
When I ride, I don't worry about 'This Asshole' I worry about the other assholes. Be safe out there.
This guy was just plain STUPID!

Thanked: 4207IphoneX resurrection.
Tools of the trade,
Attachment 311914
The smashed parts donor phone beside mine that went in the drink, the plan to take all the dry guts from the smashed phone, and transplant them in my good case.
2 sided tape on a legend to keep track of everything as removed. Cat clearly on guard duty!
Everything laid out to inspect. There are tri wing, Philips and pentalobe screws there of many different, and specific sizes.
Ultrasonic acetone bath for the main motherboard to clean any corrosion from the circuits.
Them bubbles work amazingly aggressively on corrosion.
I bought the broken iphone for the main board mostly, but ended up breaking the SIM card tray off inside it taking the busted glass remains away. So I used it’s dry cameras and speakers, and stuff but had to try to save my original canal soaked m/board, hence the acetone ultrasonic bath idea.
Bought a new oled display on amazon since I didn’t think I could save the original, so am in basically 300 CDN in parts to restore this phone.
Back together. And moment of truth.
Feels good to recover some of the value considering I’m still paying for this phone on my plan, har. Not to mention the pictures it takes are fantastic compared to any phone I’ve owned.
And now I have enough parts for a wall hanging still to commemorate the ridiculous event in Amsterdam that led to the new skills acquired today, or as I refer to it, the hidden danger of renting a house boat!
Cheers gents..

Thanked: 4829Nice rescue. I’m not sure that I have any idea where to find those tools. It would likely be many trips to eBay in search as Amazon only services the hard beaten trails. You are definitely a renaissance man.

Thanked: 4207Thanks gents.
The screwdrivers needed usually come included with replacement screens, from amazon eBay or other online suppliers. They are soft metal disposable type tools at best but work for the low torque applications like electronic repair usually. Notice in the first picture I’m magnetizing the tool ends in that green magnet block so I don’t loose those crazy tiny screws along the way.
The new hi power magnifier loupe headset fits over my progressive glasses and is quite comfortable too.
Only feature that doesn’t seem to work now on the phone is the face recognition stuff tied to the front camera for unlocking it. Strange since the front and rear cameras both work again, just the Face ID stuff says ‘unable to activate’ from the iOS.
Maybe I have some imei address issues which are totally out of my capabilities to fix.
If the worst issue is neeeding to punch in my password going forward, that’s still ok..
Now to take apart a couple razors. See if ultrasonic power can do anything to them, cleaning wise.Last edited by MikeB52; 10-08-2019 at 09:04 PM.
