Thanked: 50I don't know if this has been posted anywhere else, but it's priceless. A couple of French-Canadian radio comedians pulled off a prank call to Sarah Palin: Palin falls prey to Canadian pranksters
The thing that impressed me about Palin's reactions to the prank call is that she got into lots of trouble mainly because she wasn't listening. There were countless things said by the caller that would have clued her that this was a prank, but she simply wasn't paying attention to what was said.
They're not laughing with you, Sarah. They're laughing at you.

I'm starting to feel sorry for her. She was so clearly not ready for what was presented to her on a plate. Would you turn the ticket down in her position? And now the knives are out.
Et tu, Maverick?

I have to agree with you to a great extent, one day shes a nobody and next day shes supposed to play the role of Americas darling. The Sarah Palin we saw may not have been the real Sarah Palin, if she had been given time to grow with the responsibilities. I think Mc Cain screwed her for the rest of her political life. If she did have any real talent, its been squandered.

I think she screwed herself. She should have turned him down, but she wanted the prestige and wasn't ready for the responsibility.

I feel a little sorry for her in the Greek tragedy sort of way.
I couldn't be further away from her position, but if I was to advise her and she was serious, I would tell her to get educated in world affairs and economics, amass a real record, maybe run for the Senate or Congress for Alaska, take that new passport and travel around the world a bit, then come back in 4 or 8 years. Doing the above and fighting her way to the top of a ticket, would show a lot of resolve. To be a real contender I also thing she would have to learn to move to the middle, I don't know if she's capable of that.

With her extremist views and her "my way or the highway" arrogance, I cannot see her being able to work as a Sentor or Rep. Her squandering of RNC funds on clothes for both her and her husband is beyond the pale, esp. on him...there is a difference between putting on a suit and wearing a suit...he didn't pull it off at all.

Absolutely, she should've turned it down, not when it was offered, but in the period before then. She clearly has had high ambitions for a while, but she should've had friends to advise her of not blowing it by jumping the gun too early. Or may be she is just 'wired to not blink'.
I hope it will end up being good for her. Hopefully she's more smart than she is egocentric and will extract not just the political lesson from this reality check.

Thanked: 21She's going to be put under a very high-powered microscope, and she'll be lucky if she comes away unscathed. She was playing with the same guys Stevens was, and its unclear who paid for her house!
