Well done to you both! Glad to see everything went well and your little bundle was a good weight.
Nimue found her giggle for the first time yesterday, made me cry like an idiot because I was so proud of her.

Thanked: 1CONGRATULATIONS!!! You should be very excited since this is your first.
Check out this book:
Amazon.com: What to Expect the First Year: Arlene Eisenberg: Books
This is supposed to be a great book to help you out. There's also "What to Expect when you're Expecting" both of these are by the same author.
Start reading up on parenting stuff, parenting magazine, etc. You'll be better prepared when the little tyke gets here. Think of all the cool stuff you can get for your kid & you get to play with it too.

Thanked: 131I am already deciding on what books to read to Sprog. Age dependant, the list so far is:
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Ivor the Engine series
The Cat in the Hat
Every childrens book written by Roald Dahl
Guess How Much I Love You?
All the Mr Men books
Any other (sensible) suggestions?

Sandy - you also need 'room on the broom' and 'gruffalo' in there re books. Is it Julia Donaldson that does them - a good evil wizard one and also a 'squash and a squeeze' and another one about a big giant and his clothes. My daughter sometimes passes me a gaelic kids book just to watch me squirm. She goes to croileagan - gaelic nursery.
We sometimes take books back to the library after getting them out without reading them to her. I particularly disliked the one about the good lions who decided to become vegetarians and friends with all the rest of the animals cos it was bad to hunt, kill and eat them. Twisted author that one...
Enjoy the moments as they fly - our wee one is a good sleeper/feeder and is 9 days old now. What did I do before them?...
cheers
Stephen
