I would have to go with the shark, chances are you'll die quickly from massive blood loss. As for the bear, this is an old joke to think about:
Two guys are hiking in a forest when suddenly a huge grizzly bears appears, stands on its hind legs and lets out a tremendous roar. The first hiker slowly slips off his backpack, kneels and tightens up his boot laces. The second hiker says, " You'll never be able to outrun that bear." The first hiker replies. "That's true...I just have to outrun you!"

From one who has been shark bitten....
I was bit on my birthday...23 years ago! Was windsurfing about a mile out in the Atlantic, off Litchfield Beach, S.C. I fell off and was swimming the few yards to my board when I was bit. Have a good set of teeth marks on my lower leg and foot. Was always good for show and tell, or "come up to my place and see my shark bite scar" etc.
My wife, pregnant at the time, sat in the ambulance with me telling me I was a bleeep bleep for doing this to her...that she was going to have the baby right then and there.
Made the local headlines: "City Attorney Shark Bitten at Shore."
Spare me the lawyer/shark jokes....heard em all!

Oh, I guess I should help you with this question...seeing as I have some experience. The bite was what you'd expect...a semi circle of very toothy punctures. The teeth went into the bone. I'd estimate the jaws closed with 40 lbs of pressure or so. I was lucky that it missed the achilles and that it didnt just get my calf (which might have parted from the rest of me). I bled but not terribly. Yes, I was terrified that it would attract more sharks. (I was perched on the board for about 20 minutes until I drifted into the breakers and was knocked off....no I didnt want to stand and try to sail in). The real pain started hours later. The infection was significant and I had to ramp up on the antibiotics. Painful for weeks; nearly unbearable for a number of days.
On the same leg, I have a scar from a German Shepherd that attached me while I was riding up a vercy steep climb on my bicycle. That scar is ugly...left a little indent. Closest thing I've had to a bear attack....thus far.
Shark...clean lines and cool scar.
Bear....ragged tear; uncool gorry scar.
Just my opinion.

Thanked: 9I think the shark would finsih you off very suickly although if it didnt you owuld be floating in salt water with open wounds for a while. Altho bears are vicious creatures and not exactly very adept at killing fast. Shark is deisgned for quick kill. I choose shark please.
