Thanked: 953how cool would it have been if obama had said "this is quite an honor, but I don't deserve it and insist that it be given to one of the many who deeply deserve it this year. I hope I will earn it over the course of my presidency and will be back if I do."
Nah, too used to getting worshipping applause from desperate liberals to even remember when he deserves something and when he doesn't.

Thanked: 199I hear ya Galopede! It's getting to the point where the cost and hassle of the Olympics far outweight the benefits. I hear talk about how 2016 may be the end, but I can't speak to the validity of the statement. However, I can see that time coming in the not too distant future. We need something else that can be put together without the high cost, and trying to "show off." Something simple that can be celebrated by people all over the world...
I don't subscribe to left or right. I just think "is this something GOOD or is this something BAD." And I agree with you completely. I do not think his ideas/plans are GOOD. In theory, yes (who wouldn't want to help everyone be able to afford health care? I think that would be a great thing), but the way he is going about them? HECK no!
Ditto! Humility is not something you can teach. It is something engrained in you. And he sure doesn't have it...

Yes, but he doesn't need humility. He's far above most of the rest of us, knowing what is better for the country than the country itself (which is why the approval rating is so low - just his cross to bear.) So the importance of his honesty (misinterpreted as arrogance) precludes any humility that might otherwise be expected of him.

The current administration is nothing more than the fable "The Emporer's New Clothes" come to life. I'm waiting for someone to tell him he's naked. I guess he'll give the $1.2 million to ACORN.

Take heart, the mid-terms are right around the corner.I strop my razor with my eyes closed.

Thanked: 267I for one am not looking forward to mid-terms, it is going to be brutal! I predict that the self anointed Icarus will fall very hard and fast and I truly do not relish the agony it is going to cause.
Take Care,
R
