"Our pollution spewing (if you must) civilization is the RESULT of global warming, not the cause."
Not sure I follow your drift. Global warming is the cause of our civilization spewing pollution?

"Don't you watch the current news? We are entering the third record winter in a row. Breaking records from the 1930's man."
Third record winter in a row of what? Record low temps? Record high temps? Globally? In Texas? Do you want to provide any citation at all or should I just take your word for it?

In other words, if it hadn't been for global warming the Ice Age wouldn't have ended and we wouldn't be here today? I think I get your drift.
Interesting that you seem to accept the science behind man made pollution, but not when it comes to global warming theory. I remember a time when there were those who argued the same thing about pollution that some are not asserting about GW--that man's pollution wasn't capable of significantly altering the eco system. Then that lake caught on fire...

Thanked: 431The natural seasonal warming that we fortunately have is from the giant fire ball in the sky.
(What is this thread about again?)

Thanked: 143It was wise of you to add that parenthetical remark. The sources you cite do show we are warmer now than in the recent past but they also show that we have not got any warmer for a while. As I said in an earlier post if you look at a very few points you can see almost any trend. Some see that a cooling trend started about 10 years ago. This includes at least one of the authors of the CRU emails who despaired of trying to explain this. I think it is perfectly natural to have both "coldest in a long time" and "warmest in a long time" weather during a fairly level period. It is just fun to poke those "coldest" measurements into the ribs of the AGW people. After all, they are the ones trying to make a big deal out of short term trends.

Thanked: 143You got my drift.
I tried to stay completely neutral about pollution so as not to cloud the issue. Guess I failed at that.
BTW, I do agree that pollution is a problem but I don't equate it to capitalism nor free market issues as some try to do. But that is all beside the point here.
EDIT: I'm pretty sure it was a river (in Ohio?) that caught on fire.Last edited by TexasBob; 11-30-2009 at 02:02 AM.
