Sooo...if the Harris poll numbers about the % of people who believe Obama may be the anti christ are not to be believed, does that also mean we shouldn't believe the poll numbers indicating the majority of americans were opposed to the healthcare bill that just passed?
Or do we just pick and choose which polls we want to believe?
BTW-The Obama/anti christ poll was in fact conducted by the Harris organization, which has been around for quite some time now.

Thanked: 1371The poll would be a lot more convincing if they would disclose their methods.
Yes, I do pick and choose which polls to believe. Polls that are conducted scientifically are believable. Polls that give results with no indication of how the results were obtained are not believable.Last edited by HNSB; 03-25-2010 at 10:57 PM.

Billy, I never looked at the original source but if it was in fact (I'm not doubting you) taken by a reputable source than yes it should be put in the same light as any other poll (I thought it was one of those bs online polls) but that leaves a person to make the decision as to wether or not they believe polls in general. Polls are easily manipulated by the questions, basically they can be skewed to say what ever the questioner wants it to.
Mistress, my personal situation is as follows me and my wife are typical cenrist Americans I'm leaning on the fence from the Right and she is leaning on it from the Left. The scary part for my wife is that her family has been Dems since the inception of the party and she at 30 can no longer relate to her party neither can her grandmother, her mother on the hand claims to have been at Woodstock trying to be cool but she was in Philly at the time. lol So SHE can relate to the stuff that is going on right now.
I just wish that the Progresives that are in charge now would cool it. They are out of control and trying to fundamentaly change the country by November. It's just going to take soo long to fix all of the damage they do.Last edited by firefighter; 03-25-2010 at 11:00 PM. Reason: I can't believe I made that many spelling errors. lol

True...as an example, conduct the same poll within urban/then/rural area and your results will likely strongly differ...sometimes predictably so. Let's say someone wanted to make white christians look like buffoons, carefully craft a question to leave only so many logic responses and the report the result in a manner that results in the desired conlusion...reciprocally, if you want to paint minorities negatively, use the crime statistics from the inner cities and you'll come up with the numbers you want to support that negative impression...
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

Thanked: 1371The guy from the company insists that they have a fulltime staff working to minimize bias in the polls. (bias being things like the wording of the questions, and the demographics of people polled)
Even a poll with minimal bias can be manipulated via other means. Most polling companies toe a hard ethical line with regards to reporting accurate information.
Part of that, however, is disclosing the methods used.

Well if he is the A-C, at least he lowered my taxes:
....federal taxes are very considerably lower by every measure since Obama became president. ... In fact, 40% of Obama's stimulus package involved tax cuts. ... The Tax Policy Center ... estimates that close to 90% of all taxpayers got a tax cut last year and almost 100% of those in the $50,000 income range. ... No taxpayer anywhere in the country had his or her taxes increased as a consequence of Obama's policies.

Seriously?
Well let me ask you this..... Do you drink? Beer, Liqour, wine? Maybe you smoke the occasional Cigar or you are a Cigarette smoker. Your taxes went up.
Wait until you get back doored with Cap & Trade.... when your utilities go up two fold.
The thing that people don't realize is that Obama's policies lower your Fed Tax but more than make up for it on the back side. It's like when you go buy a car at the dealer. They make more money in the finance office than they do in the showroom.

Thanked: 369And then there's the impending inflation tax that will affect most of us. And if not us then our kids and grandchildren. Oh yes, there will be more taxes for all.

Also I for got the tanning booth tax. And then let's not forget that when all of the Corporate taxes kick in and the income tax on the $250K+ club which includes a ton of small businesses goes up you will see the cost of most day to day items go up.
So in the end.... YOUR TAXES HAVE GONE UP, AND THEY WILL KEEP GOING UP.
Look into things past face value.
