I've been staying out of this thread and haven't read much but the first and last page so if I am repeating a point that has already been made I apologize for being redundant. If he were a Muslim why would he have gone to a Christian church for over a decade ? With our "gotcha" media ever vigilant there is no doubt in my mind that if it were so documentary evidence would have surfaced. Anything that might be construed as negative about him will be used by his enemies. Where there is nothing negative to use rumor mongering and innuendo will suffice.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 155Lets see, here are some of the other responses (comments in parenthesis are mine):
- 38 percent say he wants to take away Americans' right to own guns (no question about this, he just knows he can't do it right now).
- 32 percent say he is a Muslim (no way, he is obviously a liberal Christian).
- 29 percent think he wants to turn over the sovereignty of the United States to a one world government (maybe in a limited way particularly as relates to gun ownership and global warming).
- 29 percent think he has done many things that are unconstitutional (I can't comment on this, as it is really a matter for the courts to decide. In truth, I suspect every president has done things that are unconstitutional, that's why we have the courts).
- 27 percent say he resents America's heritage (I don't even know what this means).
- 27 percent say he does what Wall Street and the bankers tell him to do (some of the time. Again pretty much true of every president in my memory).
- 25 percent say he was not born in the United States and so is not eligible to be president (And if you believe this you probably believe that the U.S. government brought down the WTC, faked the moon landings and assassinated Pres. Kennedy. By the way, I have some land in Florida you might be interested in).
- 25 percent say he is a domestic enemy that the U.S. Constitutions speaks of (As in "all enemies foreign and domestic? No I don't think so, I just think he is dangerously wrong).
- 23 percent say he is a racist (aren't we all by someone's definition).
- 23 percent say he is anti-American (again, aren't we all by someone's definition).
- 23 percent say he wants to use an economic collapse or terrorist attack as an excuse to take dictatorial powers (Probably, but probably true of every other president as well).
- 20 percent say he is doing many of the things that Hitler did (Yes, but then again so has every other president I remember).

For those that consider being a Muslim a negative, and those that feel/wish nothing but the worst for Obama, it is not such a stretch to imagine him "hiding" in plain site, going to a Christian church as part of his Communist Muslim plan to take over the country and hand over control to the one-world government. But wait...the one-world government is full of Zionist Jews...what is a Muslim doing handing our country over to those guys? Man, my hate-fueled consipiracy theories are conflicting!!
Note: The second half of this post was purely meant in jest, and I am NOT saying that anyone here who holds the belief that he is in fact a Muslim believes Zionist Jews are in control of the world, or any other particular theory of anything. Just going to a light hearted giggle in what could be (but thankfully hasn't been) a tense and confict-laden thread.

The problem is that most of us are neither fish nor fowl in this area. Add to this the fact that the term liberal has different meanings in different cultures and you end up with a very poor system for classification. In the U.S. today, liberal can mean those who believe that the government, especially the federal government is the only rational choice for regulation of society, both public and private. But it can also mean broadly interpreted. In some societies it actually means a philosophy of personal liberty.
What would you call someone like me who believes that the government should pretty much stay out of my personal life and that of everyone else. Some things I support that might be considered liberal:
Gay marriage
Legalization of personal possession and use of all drugs
Tolerance for all people
Some things the would make me a conservative:
Limited government
Strong national defense
Personal responsibility
I could go on, but you should be able to get the picture.

Thanked: 96When I lived in DC, it was a short ride to Virgina, where it's much cheaper.
The whole cigarettte tax scam is despicable, the cig. companies were sued by the government for producing an "addictive" product and making a profit off of it, as soon as the court cases were over, government started adding more and more taxes. Since taxes are the governments source of revenue, are they not making revenue off an addictive product? The same thing they sued for. If you dont think others should pay for your choices, why are you such a fan of universal healthcare? You smoke so your premiums will supposedly go down(pre-existing condition, sort of), I dont smoke yet my premiums will go up to help pay for others' choices. If everyone took control of their own life and did pay for their choices, universal healthcare would not even be brought up, nor would taxes on cigs keep rising because the smoker would have to pay for his/her own choices, if they couldnt afford it then our charitable tendencies could come forth and help them.
As far as Obama being the anti-christ, not even close, but he is anti-american IMO. America was a break from european style government, and we were better because it, now all we hear is how we have to be like europe(even though they are becoming more like us), and we continually get worse off year after year. If you dont think alot of people think the US is better, check the numbers of people who immigrate vs. emmigrate, now compare that to France, Canada, and the UK's numbers.

KEEP POLITICS OFF THIS SITE!!!!!!!!!
Dear fellow esteemed members
This is a straight razor shaving site. I have no political opinions to espouse on thie site. I come to this site, as do I think the vast majority of members, to relax, forget about the drudgery of life and related problems and escape into straight razor shaving. I pity all of you who contribute to this nonsense. There are other sites more suited to you political wackos! Moderators you should shut this down!!!!

Some of us have found a site filled with men and women that we enjoy conversing with about all sorts of topics. Many of us disagree strongly with each other, but have faith that our strongly held beliefs will be respected, even when we disagree. yes, there are other sites specifically suited to political discussion, and I do in fact go to some of them on occasion. I have yet to find one where it is as enjoyable and respectful as it is here. Please, do not tell our moderators what to do, and how to do their jobs, most of us think they do a fine job of it.
Not that ANY of us would EVER get out of hand
