True enough. You cannot trust these damned academics at the best of times, let alone when there is a source of Government funding at stake.

The Sami people were somewhat the same as Aboriginals or Indians elsewhere. They once were populating most of this country until ancient Finns and Swedes drove them up north about 1000 - 1500 years ago. They almost faced the extinction but somehow managed to survive. Maybe it was damn too cold place or maybe they just weren't worth for the ancient knights to go to freeze their balls up there, hunting for natives. Nowadays they live in the northernmost parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russian Kola Peninsula. It is known as a Sapmi country.

Little by little people here realized that they have a right for their own culture too, and since about nineties (or so) they've had the parliament of their own. They also have their own flag and a right to study and deal with public officials in their own language, in their own areas. How far south the Sami have lived in the past has been a big question among historians because it is the question of their Land Rights. They were here before us.

However. I haven't been able to find any Sami instructions (actually there is 3 different Sami languages remaining these days) from the pizza boxes, and even if i did, i wouldn't recognize it as they do not use traditional Latin alphabets.

Then put in any salt you may need along with as much coarsely ground black pepper as you can handle. Toss in a pinch of ground up sage. Then split your scone (or biscuit as some of us know them) in half, spread a little bit of butter on it and ladle some sausage gravy on it. Also good with a sunny side up egg put on top or served with a big helping of grits or scrapple or pon hoss.

We actually ought to. Inclusion is good. And I'd like to see if I can figure out by reading.

The movie 'windtalkers' is about that.
One of the key features of Navajo language was that it had no written language. It could only be spoken, and only the Navajo knew it.
The people came up with words for tank / gun / etc and the language was then used for radio communication.

Language is something I feel strongly about, especially as I am (at the moment) a monoglot english speaker, yet from my father on back, I am Welsh. A language I am in the process of learning, and another language that was near to extinction. I have language (CD packs) course on French, Spanish, and wait for it...Navajo! All are on my too do list, but first I must conquer Welsh language. I only feel sorrow for those that have lost or are losing their native language. It's a link to your past, your history, your Self.

It's ironic but Welsh is actually an English word which means foreigner. Despite being Welsh, my father didn't speak a word of it.
