Maybe.
It's a big risk to take though, no? This guy reminds me way too much of Hitler to justify taking that chance. Have you seen the assertions he's made regarding things like the Holocaust? He isn't quite right in the head. And sure, if he attacks Israel with Nuclear weapons we'd take him out that very day. He wouldn't stand a chance. He would die 100 times over.
But the ultimate question is are you willing to bet millions of lives that he won't ever want to be a martyr? Is he that level-headed? Is he that reasonable?

Chances are that if Ahmadinejad pressed the button he would be be a long way away by the time retaliation was on its way.

Not true. We were giving enormous amounts of aid to the war effort and there were American volunteers fighting. We couldn't enter the war directly because isolationists wouldn't allow it.
There WERE WMD's in Iraq. There is an Iraqi General that toured the US after the war giving lectures about how he watched the WMD's being crated up and shipped to Syria. We gave them months to get it done after all.

Oh, you are gonna trust that madman to not put a Nuke in NY? I would prefer that we bomb the nuke plants now instead of trusting Adolphinejad to be reasonable.
We are using drones to kill the people that have attacked the US time and time again. You don't reason with rabid dogs, especially after they have already bitten you, you kill them.

Really? Do you have a reference? May be that general has the name of the company that cashed the checks from those axis-of-evil Syrians too. But it probably doesn't matter, 'we the american people' probably you included thought that the administration was handling that war well enough to vote it in for a second term.

I never quote a story without being able to back it up.

I know you will dismiss these stories. You are much more comfortable with the idea that Bush lied about the whole affair.Last edited by Crotalus; 02-07-2012 at 02:17 AM.

Yes, actually. If it were only him and his nuke I would probably agree. But he's not a lone lunatic, he's a head of state with people around him who I'm sure are not all madmen.
And besides, what's the alternative ? If Iran is attacked by either Israel or the US, I guarantee you, you will have a war and more terrorism.
For the record, I do agree that it would be better if Iran hadn't any nuclear weapons.
That sort of reasoning is either ignorance of recent history or hypocritical. The US & allies have done much more harm to the peoples of the Middle East-than the reverse.
That sounds like something Ahmedinejad would say.

I guess that depends on whether you're American or not.
So there
This thread has swerved wildly off topic, yet so far it is going very well.
I hope that the rest of the year will continue in the same spirit as we head down the rollercoaster of the general election.
You know, they could probably save the economy if they turned it into a reality show like 'X factor' for politicians.
