Nothing special here, just a train behind my house. That cat isn't mine, it's a stray that hangs out on my block.

I would throw a BBQ grill out there, if it was mine

I've heard nothing but good about that Thermacell.
    Is it expensive to use?

There was once a large pool where the sand and dirt is.

Cost is the only downside as it isn't nearly as cheap as repellent. But at a campsite or tree stand where you have synthetic fibers that DEET eats through it's worth it. And if you buy the refills on Amazon it gets a bit cheaper: Amazon.com: ThermaCELL R-4 Mosquito Repellent Refill - Value Pack: Patio, Lawn & Garden

I can't say I've used it hunting before as I'm normally a ground stalker so I just crash through the woods and hope to find a deaf deer. But I bought a treestand from some fellow on craigslist this year so I plan on taking it out if I pick up a muzzle loader or crossbow.

    only slightly
higher, so we get the two-level effect with a little path
    running down the middle.

    Awesome.
