I will say, however, that for the past 20 or so years they have more or less been discredited by their own failures in maintaining any kind of accuracy in presenting truthful objective journalism.
As such, I'd like to recommend a book to you. Its very short but very powerful, more of a pamphlet really. Its called "How Do You Kill 11 Million People?: Why the Truth Matters More Than You Think".

Let's keep the hyperbole outside please.
This talk about 'the left' and 'the right' is fit for fox or cnbc or whatever. Not for SRP. In this discussion, or for that matter the conversation forum, there are both left and right leaning people. And neither of those groups act 'as a group' blindly following part lines.

Insofar as 'The left' has been itching to blame it on a white conservative guy with an NRA membership card: have you noticed any of that here in the conversation forum?

My apologies, some topics lead to higher emotion and therefore posting without fully considering the content.

The irony of the Political Elite..

A press conference is about ready to begin with the Ruling Class of Mass. So assets are pulled from the search, Blackhawks are flown in, National Guard are deployed around the conference area, to make sure the Princes are safe to give the conference

To the people of the area "Don't answer the door and call 911 if he is there"...

    Yep, gotta love it

How they made excuses and covered up what was obviously a problem. Its not enough to simply be "not guilty".
If you are a member of an ethnic or religious group in a country and that group has trouble makers, it is imperative that the group sees it as it's civic duty/responsibility to actively out these trouble makers. By not acting in such a positive manner they are doing a disservice to the majority in that group and the country, as a whole, that they live in. You cannot live in isolation and should not tolerate passivity.

The wisest course of action may be to contain our predjudice at least until the dust has settled.

Very true. In your country, in past years, they've had more than their share of terrorism, both homegrown, and foreign sourced.

That Sopranos episode is one of the best ever-I've watched it several times! Paulie Walnuts is my favorite character, too-just a hysterical clip.

As for the various media and their shoddy reporting, I think that is now just something that is going to happen with every major story. There are so many "new" outlets now, so many online blogs and wing-nuts with an axe to grind, so many talking heads trying to spin "the facts" this way and that, that I'm not even sure it's possible to know with any certainty what the truth is about any story, really.

Which brings up one of my favorite quotes that, I think, applies here: "History is what we all agree to believe in."
