I'm all with the little boy in The Horse Whisperer who wears his hat "because it fits his head". The hat that fit my head used to be a Stetson Rawhide but my head grew too big as my dreads got longer. Therefore my SWMBO bought me a Stetson Chalco that fits better for christmas last year. It looks like this (sorry about that tin-can):

I wear it pretty much every day as long as it's not too much below freezing outside. Here I'm helping my daughter build a new patio at our house:

Here is one from a deer hunt earlier this year:

Even had it on at one of the weddings I went to last summer. No pictures to prove it though. (At the other wedding it was actually my SWMBO's sister who was the bride so I dug out my black London made vintage cylinder hat).

I have a couple of other options for hunting too though. Mainly this Austrian hat that used to belong to my grandfather. Try to wear it if I'm out with my old Belgian s/s:

I try my very best to teach my little kids to wear proper hats too :

I agree that that is a great drinking hat - but tea is not the first thing that came to mind...

Well, don't think I'm that brave but without the emblems one of thouse could fit well together with my government issued woolen overcoat now in the winter. The coat has got lions on it's buttons and they don't go too well together with that star ;-)

Up here you'd have to be very brave man (or have quick feet) to carry those cockades in your hat. Nice hats anyways. We call them 'Hruštšov'

I generally don't wear hats but when I do it's usually an Irish cap I have from Hanna Hats of Donegal. I've been thinking of making the plunge into a pork pie hat. There's a hat store in Boston called Salmagundi's that had a nice one. It looked exactly like the one worn by Popeye Doyle in the French Connection.
