Somehow I have manage to collect a variety of hats but seldom wear them for some reason. I'll post a few photos later. Been an interesting thread.

Never owned a classic old mans fedora before picking this Canadian made Royal Stetson at the Sally for 7 bucks the other day. Liked the colour I guess and it cleaned up easily with a brush and some elbow grease. Very comfortable hat.

That's a nice looking hat Bob. I was saying to Steph (Nightblade) the other day (via email) how I was looking at French/Scots type Beret's. I had a great compliment paid to me last month (ANZAC Day) by a Viet-Nam Vet. He saw me during the ceremonies with my old Bonnet on my head and came up to me later at the RSL to shake my hand...Along with a few good words and a bit of a joke about there always being one ex Scots regiment bloke at ANZAC day. A photo might be a good idea here too I suppose. Myself and my girls.

Thanks Mick. Our local Lake Superior Scottish Regiment wear the Balmoral Bonnet or the Glengarry depending on the dress. Their tartan is the Macgillivray Tartan.

I was a Rifleman with the Cameron Raider's (9/16RWAR) Bob. The tartan of the Cameron's is sewn on to my bonnet where the cockles and hat badge are pinned.

Now you have to travel to South Philly and stand outside Pat's. There is a spot marked "showing" where part of the movie was filmed. For little tech geeks like me it was cool to see. Neither of my boys understand Rocky but I got a good laugh and good cheese steak.

I was there several years ago for a Red Sox/Phillies game. Drove down for the game, hit one of the cheese steak places, went to the game, hit the other
cheese steak place, then drove home. No hat though.

Well, since I bought a Colt 1873 SAA
I decided I needed a new, black cowboy hat to match it.
