Just the one Big ole Hen we had left, she was the wife's raised from a chick had her over 8 years, more a pet than anything else.. The Coon managed to take advantage of a perfect scenario, climbed up the firewood stacks to get over the top of a 8 foot wall, the wife saw the security lights come on that night so I went and looked around but it came back after 3am and killed her Chicken.. Once the wife found out, the orders of execution came down, and I spent the last 3 nights waiting..
I would have set traps or snares but we have a new barn cat wandering around the property, and I just knew that would not have ended well
Big Raccoon too, close to 30lbs, you can see from the paw prints on the wall which gave a good indication of size ...

We haven't had them come in all that much, this is only the 3rd one I have shot in 11 years,,,

I just picked up my 2012 New Mexico black bear pedestal mount today. It was a nice color phase bear.

I have thrown in the towel on hunting this year.

It costs $$, the state chargeds $$, then there is fuel & travel expense.

I am done (at least for this year).

I went on a hike yesterday afternoon. I saw one Whitetail crossing the trail while hiking, two turkeys and two deer on the park road driving out. At dusk three deer were browsing across the street from my house. The dogs went bananas. Late last night the deer came back. While standing on the porch I practiced my "buck grunt" on them. Except for the two I saw driving, all of the deer were within 40 yards.

I saw these while walking at the park this afternoon. The deer in the park are used to people so we were able to walk right by them.Name: image.jpg

We were running a little late and found it in the road still alive but barely. Busy day and the tag cost nothing other than the time waiting for the Highway Patrol. Tomorrow we find out how much useful meat is left.

Possibly, but I am leaning more towards a European Mount with the grill as the background.
