That new compressor I bought at the start of this restoration, the hulk 10 gallon model had a faulty safety switch. I told the mfgr I needed a new Vv, they sent me a new compressor.
So I bought what I needed for the 10 and sold it on Facebook market for about half what I paid.

Today I opened up the new compressor box and find they sent me the 20 gallon, not the 10!
Very crazy, in a good way, customer support that!
So Emax, makes the hulk, and it’s a quiet, quiet oilless air compressor for those on the market.
I am now gonna test my new, bigger unit and figure it’ll be the last air compressor I need to buy in my lifetime.
    Cheers gents.

I hope that you outlast the compresser and need to buy 3 more.

Well lovely weekend drive cut short.
Started backfiring and then lost ignition.
    Not sure yet why.

Likely the best looking car to have sat on that flat deck though.

    Thanks gents.
Going to pull the plugs and start with compression, then timing, etc.
Have good fuel flow, so not that.
Maybe the MSD box got hot or is throwing a code.
Will see. But there goes the confidence I was building with Ruth as far as Noddy’s reliability goes.
Was this close to having her considering a longer jaunt too.
    Damn.

Well, so far, compression is good 130-160 across all 4.
I have fuel, I have spark, I swapped to my original leads and cap for troubleshooting.
Still starts up from cold and runs rough, then starts to hesitate, backfire etc and won’t idle.
Figure the new carbs and their adjustments are next, but weird. Can’t get an accurate timing light reading running this rough either so playing with my adjustable timing slightly while she is running.
Might add some fresh gas too, just in case I got some bad fuel last fill up.
Surprised I haven’t found it yet, such a simple system and all..
    Cheers.

I 'think' that draining and replacing the fuel would be a good place to start. That way you'll know before the new carbs get added.
