By examining a few slousand brass floats, I can only conclude that a hole is drilled....Tiny!
The halves are stamped and put in a jig to hold them together.
    (stay with me! )
Bracketry, etc are soldered on via the jig.
Last step is to seal the little hole. Hot and fast!

Got my spindle nut yesterday, and slowly chased the threads to work it back on properly and tight!
But still waiting on the new floats though so I peeled off all the jb and resealed the original floats with silver solder and slapped them back on.
Got my ten day temp permit and ownership all changed over so took her out for a few hours tearing around the north countryside.
60 mph at 4000 rpm seemed like 100! But I did get her up to a good 60-70 with very little tire tremble. Think the flatspots are working out slowly and what a hoot gents!
Can officially say I love this little roadster.
Need to borrow my sons dash cam to share the roads up here. Lots of winding choices and very little traffic while I get used to standard drum brakes again.
Also tackled my broken top lock on the passenger side windshield.

I wouldn't imagine that they are much fun in the rain with the top down either.

Longest I've ever ridden in the rain on a motorcycle was 150 miles in a heavy rain and with no rain gear. Damn that hot shower was welcomed at the end of it.
