I'm currently about a third of the way through "Remembrance of Things Past" by Proust. I've put this off for years, mostly intimidated by the prospect of reading this. So far I can honestly say that my fears were completely unfounded.

I just finished reading "Classic Feynman" the other day, and it was fantastic. It is a collection of autobiographical stories, put together with some notes from an editor (whose name I cannot remember). Feynman really was an American genius, and a very clever prankster. I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good story about an interesting character. (There is little, if any, physics in the book at all.)

Vince Flynn, Brad Taylor (relatrively new author), Brad Thor (currently finishing The Apostle), some of John Grisham's older stuff, and Jack London. I also read one of Jane Austen's books, Northanger Abbey, and boy was that painful. Still not sure why I read it.

At the moment I'm reading "Fear and loathing in las vegas" by Hunter S Thompson, it's pretty darn hilarious.

Thanked: 1587I'm starting on the grapes of wrath again. It's been a long time since I read it. There's been a little voice in the back of my mind telling me it would be illuminating to read it again, particularly now.

Thanked: 235I bought something recently, not a good book, but I imagine it will become indespensible when it comes to good books. I bought myself a book light so that I can read in bed without annoying my wife. Now that we have a baby my main night time activity will be reading good books in bed.
By the way. I have chosen The Lord of the Rings to test out my new book light.

Currently reading the Pevear and Volokhonsky translation of Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment".
For the last decade, or so, I have been reading the classics mostly. There is a reason they are "the classics".
