I do agree but at the time of my post I couldn't recall the names of the roads. (farther time and mother nature.)

Since the last pic, I switched to Biltwell frisco bars, and I have also moved the speedo to the upper motor mount on the left side. Not sure it'll stay there, since it's cable driven and that cable kinda sticks out there...Name: image.jpg

Cheer up. Just cause you won the moron contest once doesn't mean you have to win it everyday. I got you covered. It took 45 years on two wheels but I finally did it this year.

    Coulda been worse.

I'm well over that incident now. Threw the bike across a car park and dropped it once since.
Yours looks pretty bad though -- how'd you manage it? Wrote the bike off or what? Hope it mends quick though!

Humiliating. 10 feet from the end of my driveway turning left on to my little dirt road covered in 3" of wet pine needles on gravel. Clutch came out, made 10mph, bike spun 180* left in 1/millionth of a second, skidded a few feet and tipped left - sitting/standing in a sharp sided shallow ditch. The bike only fell until:

    1. the BMW's left jug propped on the inside of the ditch (handlebars never touched the ground); and
    2. the peg pinned my ankle to the ditch as I went forward, then back. Double-snap, hurt like hell.

Two fractures just above the ankle. Got the bike standing, started and rode it the whole 60-feet back to the garage and crawled into the house. That was in March. Been riding since late May and I can sort of hop again. But you know, who really needs to hop that much? Damage to the bike? Dirt caked on the left jug. Brushed it off with a whisk brook when the insurance guy came to inspect it. No problems. Except hopping on my left foot.

Shit happens, I guess. Glad you're pretty much recovered -- if you need to hop so badly, do it on your right leg.
At least you didn't have to fork out a ton of money on the bike too!
