Currently I have no ride. I sold my most recent 2 wheeled fun machine to help cover some bills. It was a 2003 Yamaha FZ1. Awesomely fun ride it was.
I have owned a few over the years, with my first one being a '74 or '75 BMW R90S. It was a fun bike and for me a great first bike.
I then moved on to a '79 Yamaha XS1100 Special. Rode that for a few years before getting my first American steel.
My next endeavor was a '74 Harley Electra-glide. Was a lean mean oil leaking machine, lol. Wrecked that coming down from a spot on Pikes Peak due to a patch of ice. When they finally got it up out of the ravine the forks looked like boomerangs and all it was good for anymore was scrap.
I then bought a Suzuki GS400. Nice little bike to putz around on.
No bikes for a number of years, then got into riding again and bought the Yamaha FZ1. Won't be able to have another toy for a while, but I am keeping my eye out for a good deal on a Victory or one of the newer Indian Motorcycles. Hell, I'd even love to have the new Indian Scout. So I drive a station wagon , what of it ? ( www.lxforums.com )

A new Indian in my near future! Been riding for 30 years, Honda's, Kawasaki's (my favorite bike was a '82 KZ1000j), Yamaha's and have HD's the last 10 years. I rode the new Indians last summer and almost pulled the trigger but the dealership is a bit far away and that concerned me about buying a new brand. They just opened a dealership in Fort Collins, Co last week, I'm headed down Saturday to make my purchase. Going keep my Road Glide but am very excited to get an Indian Chief.

Nails, you're in some of my favorite riding country. I toured CO last summer, and Estes Park was phenomenal. They were tarring and graveling 14, but we still took it for the ride back west.

I bought a 2001 Victory as a used bike many years ago. Until recently I had only an open car port to keep it parked in for the winter. It has been in a garage for the last 2 winters. It still runs like a champ and does not leak any fluid. I have nothing against HD. They are good bikes with fun styling but a Victory is just as good for a little less money. HD is not feeding my boys so I will keep my money with me.
When you boil it all down though, two wheels and an open road are all you really need to enjoy!!

Thanked: 49Have any of you seen one of the new BMW RnineT models in person? They look pretty cool at least in pics and video. As a lazy man, the only thing that I don't like it the lack of the linked brakes, but I wonder if that is a result of them using regular front forks instead of the Telelever or just a conscious design choice?
