My insurance company didn't pay off as well because of what they called previous payouts but regardless, they weren't my fault. I've been riding most of my life & when a light turns yellow in front of me, I begin to come to a stop & as soon as the light turns red, I'll see 3-4 cars run it! I just don't get why people are in such a big hurry these days. It's amazing that I have seen people run a light that has just turned so red many times.
I have not seen the accident report yet but because I suspect they lied big time, I'm going to get it. I want to find out what their statement was.
Thanks Joe.

Aloha!
The answer to this, IMO, is two-fold.
1.) People feel entitled. Why should they have to stop for a red light?
2.) People do not like to be inconvenienced. A red light is an inconvenience.
When you add the strain of a densly populated, competitive society to this, you have the formula for accidents. And road rage. It's why the lady that forced me into a ditch because she was texting came back to yell at me. I inconvenienced her by being on her road and in her way while she was texting and crossed into my laine (oh, sorry.... HER lane. I forgot it is her road).
Best to keep you eyes wide open, your head on a swivel, and expect the unexpected. Many of my friends that ride now travel only with GoPro cameras constantly on and recording their rides for insurance sake. Sad but true.
Be safe out there!

Last year I got run off not the ditch by a drunk on an Indian reservation that the Indian police wouldn't do anything about and later a guy who decided he wanted to make a left with me right beside him, took a little over a couple of months before I found him in a parking lot, pretty sure he won't do it again. Stay loud and proud when you ride, but watch out for the ones who really aren't paying attention, my ass has been in a Harley for 45+ years and seen a bunch of stupid crap. I,ll never quit, but every now and then you got to pull up and knock someone's side mirror off. Tc

That's a fact Tc! I've been riding most of my life & I'm always looking all around me. I use my mirrors plus I will look around quickly. This was a 4 lane street with 2 lanes going one way, a median in the middle & 2 lanes going the other way. One guy pulled across, stopped, then proceeded but he was good in doing so, he had plenty of space but the people behind him saw the light was green & almost came to a complete stop in between the median & suddenly pulled out in front of me. I usually have an escape path but in this case, it happened so fast, I couldn't go around them with only inches between their rear bumper & my front tire or wheel. I've avoided many accidents but this one couldn't be. It happened too fast. I was even slowing down because I did not know their intention & they made what I call a rolling stop, not making a complete stop. Out of hundreds of accidents I avoided this was just one of those that couldn't unfortunately. More vehicles are on the road along with more motorcyclists & people in cages don't look for larger objects so a motorcycle they just block from their vision but when they are caught, they try to make it look like it was the biker's fault. "oh, I didn't see him" is a popular excuse or "he was going too fast" which is what the female passenger said when they finally got out of the car yet they acted as if nothing happened but when they saw others taking pics of their license plate, I noticed when she got out of the car, she looked at their rear bumper. I thought I was going to get a ticket but the officer decided not to write any & said he was going to let the insurance companies decide who was at fault & they sided with me. I'll just finish building my old shovelhead & get me another truck. I lost my last truck when I lost my job but the one before that was totaled when an 18 wheeler ahead of me made a right turn from the center lane in front of me & I was in the right hand lane. My new nickname might as well be Crash.

After playing music Saturday night until the wee hrs of the morning and sleeping in most of Sunday. Mama and I went for an impromptu ride this morning for breakfast. Well, 3 states, 3 eatin' places, a couple "I gotta pee" or "fuel stops" and 546 miles later....we arrived back at the homestead. If "this" is what retirement will be like.....we're both ready!!!!
As a side note: the place I played Sat night "River Fest 2017" (about 15 miles east of Springfield, Il.)is 'THE place to be on the 4th of July weekend!!!' 470 acres, jet boat rides, 2 live bands, more smoked pork amd beef than any human could ever desire, RV electric hook-up, ATV trails. Not to mention, a touch over 4200 people thru the gate (and that was just Saturday!!!) Yeah!!!!! It was one hell of a party!!!Last edited by AcesandEights; 07-04-2017 at 01:19 AM.

I have a bad habit of looking at bikes on craigslist, and I found this thing at a price I couldn't pass up. So now I have an Ironhead...
I'm not wild about the pipes or the bars, but the motor and trans run great.
