Shaving is going good as ever with a straight. You can tell by my lack of posts that I don't have the time to hang around SRP as I did in the old days at yahoo or even here when the big switch was made, but I still like to see what's going on from time to time. I tend to spend more time over at Fountain Pen Network.

Again congrats on the accomplishment and hope you enjoy your flying.

    Michael,
Same for me...I read the forum, bought the gear (4 straights, strops, hones, etc) & Lynn's DVD, and now I just shave myself. I tend to use forums as a learning resource for new skill acquisition, since there's so much archived on most of them.

My current fav is the BMA M5 board, since I bought a 2000 M5 in January, and getting up to speed on the quirks, etc, of the beast. Main reason I posted this announcement here was that I got an e-mail the day before saying that I'd not visited in awhile, so figured I'd post since I know there are a few guys who fly here.

I've never joined a fountain pen forum, but do own a few, use them for my personal correspondence, although my work dictates black ink, ball-pen.

    Take care, and thanks again!

    Bladerunner,

Good Advice!! Thanks for the thumbs-up. Do you do some flying? Although, situational awareness is a necessary skill for straight shaving, in my opinion...no spacing out when sharpened steel meets skin!

As someone who knows nothing about planes– congratulations! It seems like a huge accomplishment from where I stand. I would love to learn some day.

    Michael,
    Why'd you leave ATC?
