Congrats! I started flying when I was about 13 or so, in gliders. I love it! I went to flight school, but it didn't work out so well. I plan to get back in the air as soon as I can, though. I did my time in a Cessna 152. I'm 6'1" and husky, but they made me squeeze in. Not fun, as I was literally elbow to elbow with my instructor. I much prefer the space in a Piper Cub. I got to go up with my flight instructor from Post Mills Soaring Club in his Cub. Just wonderful flying! Hope you get the chance to post some in-air pics! Just don't shave while flying

Thanks! Here's my new perfect day: early fall day, warm enough to shave outside...Big basin of hot water on the teak patio table, my Moss Mug, freshly stropped Theirs Issard 6/8 straight, Shavemac 25mm SilverTip brush, Taylor of Bond St sandalwood cream.
Big, steaming mug of Peet's French Roast, made in presspot; Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo des Dieux (Habanos, vintage Sept 2003).
Shave, smoke & sip, taking my time, enjoying each pleasure in turn.
Then, head over to the airport, hop in the Cessna, and fly 2 hours to the northwoods of Wisconsin for some musky fishing! Can't be beat!

Thanked: 5SE and ME fixed wing commercial. Flight instructor Etc.
Flew for Allegheny under UsAirways for years. Got laid off back in 2004. Went back to school and got a job as an engineer. Never looked back. I get a chance to fly every once in awhile but I don't think I could go back to it commercially.

Private ASEL and Glider. Also some time in ultralights and paragliding (gave that up after dis-located wrist, broken arm, broken femur).
The easy road is rarely rewarding.
