Thanked: 884Still got my SEL. BFR and medical are out of date. Used to fly a lot taildragger and experimental stuff. Used to do a lot of crazy stuff and aerobatics. Got time in Stearman's, Champs, T-carts, Pitts, J-3's and the like. Got my license in a Piper Colt. Those a FUN little planes and you can't tell how ugly they are when you're sitting it.
Was good friends with Duane Cole and "Pappy Spinks". Met Kermit Weeks many years ago when he was just a skinny kid with a guitar that could fly the HELL of a plane in a contest.
Don't mess with it much any more.
Went up with my old business partner in his J-3 a while back. Crosswind was a bit over what was supposed to be socially acceptable for a Cub. We did it anyway and made it back in one piece.

Now that the boy has moved out and is making his way on his own, I may start messing with flying again.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.

I have a client/friend who has just received an award for having his pilots license for 50 years without any incident. He is an interesting and outstanding man. After serving in EVERY branch of the US military he's now editing a biography on Neil Armstrong, a long time friend of his. This is one of the wonderful people that us barbers get to talk to.
