Sorry to be anal, but the oldest brewery in North America is Molson. It was founded in Montreal, Canada in 1786, and still brews in the same building. Yeungling was founded in 1829, which makes it the oldest brewery in the United States.

My favorite named beer has got to be Old Frothingslosh. And collectible cans, yet!

Nothing anal about that. I stand corrected. I lift a Molson to ye (or a Yeungling, or an Alexander Keith, take your pick).

I'll definitely have to try a Yeungling. It's now on my to-drink list.

Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout (Tadcaster, Yorkshire) in fact anything out of that wonderful brewery, Leffe, Blonde or Dark (Belgium), Hawkshead Red (the English Lake District). Hot days: can anyone sing the Pabst Blue Riband song?

Old Rasputin, Guinness, and Pilsner Urquell. I generally prefer a stout, but that Pilsner is really good.

Dogfish-head brown ale is outstanding. New Belgium Abbey and Spaten Optimator are a close second for my favorites.
There's also a local Austin, TX brew called Convict Hill Oatmeal Stout that is incredible, but only available at a few stores.
