Thanked: 1160Haven't smoked outta this Viking for a while. Having a little nightcap. I think I may have been lucky in that in my early pipe smoking stages I bought a lot of Vikings due to their affordability and my local carried many.I think I may have some early series pipes possibly before Bjarne passed away. I can tell there is a difference in quality(better sturdier ferrules) than some of my seemingly newer Vikings. I have no idea what the series of these pipes are that I have and have not seen them anywhere else. Two are brothers and the other my squashed tomato which is another style. anyway, they are old friends just the same...........Cheers guys...

Josh Bafford Pipe
Well a few posts back I showed a pipe that I was interested in... And I finally got it
I told Josh that I would do a review on his pipe so I figured what better place than here... So here it is...
A sweet little Nose Warmer Squat...
His fit and finish is wonderful, no sanding marks, high gloss wax shine and the stem and shank match perfectly...
A pipe cleaner runs cleanly through the stem & shank...
My pictures are "Before" smoking but that will change in the future...
I loaded the bowl (about 1.25" deep and 3/4" round) with a mild Black Cavendish blend, one light and I was puffing...
And as expected, a slow smoke is needed due to it's size, but it was a great smoke...
What I have found with NW's is they tend to "gurgle" due to the size, this one on the other hand I had no problem with...
All in all a great pipe for the money and best of all a custom pipe...
