I'm really curious to try the C&D Exclusive you like so much. How does it compare to Haddos as far as strength and flavor. Or is totally different?

Haddo's is in a class by itself, I have never smelled a pouch/tin aroma like it, ever. Probably still my favorite tobacco.

Exclusive is a C & D tobacco that is 50% Perique, so it is very spicy and strong. Has Red Virginia and also a Mild Cavendish. It is supposed to be similar to the old Escudo. I smoked it for a few years, off and on, before I really started to appreciate it.

I'd suggest trying just a 50 gm tin first, just as a test.

I love Haddo's but ran out of aged tins and now have four 1-pound tins waiting to age and be opened. Probably pop one next month. Exclusive is less expensive than Haddo's.

If you like Haddo's I think you could appreciate exclusive.

I read this and it doesn't seem to be much help, sorry.

Better yet, send me a PM with your contact info and I'll send a sample to you, might not go out til Wed as I have two busy days off on Mon & Tues.

Haddos tin note for me is of a dark prune or plum or a little raisin I find it intoxicating. I have never experienced it aged or any other tobacco for that matter except my old cuban cigars that I smoke on occasion, in my humidor like my Ramon Allones which is easily ten or more years old. Since I am new to all this pipe jazz I pretty much consume as I buy, but then again the tin I bought from the local cigar shop looked like it was sitting on the shelf for a millenia by the amount of dust that was on it hehe. Im not afraid of strong tobacco I really like it actually and already tend to wave off some blends as being too mild and characterless. So I think I probably would like it.

Well I'm going out to the porch on this cool evening and burn some GL Pease Maltese Falcon with a snifter of Hennesey and keep out of trouble. Im running out of Haddos and I want to smoke it on Sunday. Cheers.

I just looked up some reviews on this, because I hadn't heard of it. I read this and couldn't help but laugh out loud
"I am all for nicotine and thought I could handle that drug in any measure. Boy, was I wrong. I started to hiccupp after about the 10th puff. I was swoonin' and droolin' by the 20th puff. Don't ask me what happened after that because I don't remember."
    AND
"I guess strength and flavor are matters of personal opinion after all. Whether you will find this as potent as I did remains for you to decide.
All I know is that I loaded a group three sized bowl fully dressed and in my right mind. At the end of my smoke, I found myself clothed in nothing but my BVD's and hiding behind an avocado tree in my backyard warding off fruit rats with a pen knife."

I gotta get some ASAP lol
