I generally smoke straight pipes but I like 1/8 or 1/4 bents too. Here are a couple I picked up off the bay many years ago that I couldn't resist even though they are more like 1/2 bent. James Upshall made by hand in Tilshead, England. The one with the spigot on the mortise is the only Upshall I've ever seen with 'James' stamped over top of Upshall.
I have a hunch it is an early one. BTW, that spigot shows what happens to silver if you never polish it for 10 years. The one with the silver band is stamped DS behind the Upshall name. The DS were the initials of a UK company that carried the Upshall pipes. I forget the name, but if the initials hadn't been stamped I bet that would have been an E grade. The silver on both pipes by Les Wood, of Ferndown Pipes fame.

Some Peter Heinrichs Dark Strong Flake in my Rattrays Canadian. Nothing new till I burn through my stash. tobacco collecting is very much like shave soap collecting. At some point you have to use up some to justify getting more.
