I'm reminded of this scene from Leave it to Beaver. The Beaver smoking a huge meerschaum pipe. Apparently he's not as accomplished a pipe smoker as his old man Sorry, I couldn't find the whole bit in one shot so here's part 1

and apparently afterwards, Larry procured some actual pipe tobacco. Apparently it didn't go very well either

C&D Billy Budd in a 7769 Kaywoodie (pre-1938). What a fine smoke this pipe is.

Doc Pat, Covent pipe, Billy Tea and a good book. A nice relaxing way to start the day.

This is my first pipe, a Dr. Grabow Duke... It saw many bowls of Cpt. Black and was always nice to smoke... Probably my best smoking pipe... I put it away for a few years and brought it back out 3 years ago...

So a few weeks ago I was talking to Eric King (Omar King) about a refurbish... He got the new stem in today so I'm thinking I should see the pipe sometime next week... Another Tuxedo and about 5.5" long compaired to 6.5"...

    UPDATE:

Final fitting and a polish is all that is needed at this point... I think it looks great...!

So my wife saw a "daily deal" for a Scotch tasting at the Robusto Room for my dad's birthday. Of course, I couldn't let him just go by himself. Being the good son that I am, I went with him to sample some fine, single malt Scotches.

Morning Smoke: Irish Flake in a Flame Grain Meerschaum Kaywoodie. Full no kidding tobacco taste and vitamin N content. I find this tobacco quite similar to a full bodied cigar.

I had some Samuel Gawith Firedance Flake last night. Can't say it did much for me, glad I only had a sample and not a whole tin!

    A little bit tired...
Yesterday we were in Leipzig. We got an invitation:
    U.S. Election Night 12
The U.S. Consulate General Leipzig invited 400 people from the States of Saxony, Thuringia and Saxony/Anhalt to the Election Party.
We met a lot of Americans, spoke with Teta Moehs (Consule of Public affairs)
There was also a Panel discussion: "America votes: expectations and perspectives on both sides of the Atlantic"
    We came home 3 a.m.
The Consulate General of the United States in Leipzig gave and give us a lot of support in our work...sistercity relationsship Glauchau, Saxony-Lynchburg, VA
